I am in very Leave Me - Scorpions - Lonesome Crow shape. I have an 8 pack. The Angry Theme - Nosmo King - Now Then! workout 2 hours a day focused on improving rowing, I am on a crew team. We do long and very difficult ab circuits, we run for a while, erg, lift weights, and bike.
I keep up with the whole team when we do all of this and am much stronger than a lot of the team. But for the life of me I can not do a full sit up from laying down with knees bent all the way to knees. Now I know this is a bad workout and isn't good for the abs And it often has led to embarrassment for me But why is it? I have a strong back because rowing is very hard on back, and I know I have strong abs So what could it be?
But I have a bubble butt :P. I doubt it's the weight that is holding me to the ground but maybe since my bones around there aren't completely free because of the fat it somehow hinders my ability I way around lbs, I am 5'6. I doubt I am too top heavy, Cant Sit With Us (Dirty) - Execs - Cant Sit With Us (File) legs are definitely bigger than most peoples. I don't know I'm weirdly built. Maybe I will just start focusing on exercises Cant Sit With Us (Dirty) - Execs - Cant Sit With Us (File) similar to the situp I described and over time move over to being able to do the situp I described.
Simple mechanics! Can you do a sit up or roll up if you keep your legs out flat? If you can the the odds are and quite likely for a rower that you are top heavy - this makes an unassisted sit up with the knees bent impossible.
As for having a big butt, again it goes with what you are doing and is more than likely muscle rather than fat. If your bum were fat, it'd tend to sag and not be the "pert" bubble butt.
My suspicion is that you are probably a different body shape to most the rowing team, odd but "slim endomorphs" - it's not a contradiction - such as Steve Redgrave make excellent rowers! There comes a point when some of just have to realize we are not quite the same basic shape as our peers.
No problem you just have to work to get what you've got into good shape and don't try to be something you cannot achieve. Maybe your 8 pack is getting in the way :D Just do some legg throws, it works out your tummy just as well. Stock up on winter home essentials.
