This was an odd compilation, reissuing half a dozen cuts each from the trio's debut LP and their From Wimoweh - Kingston Trio - Kingston Trio Encores "Hungry i" album, all remastered into Capitol's then-new "Duophonic" stereo format.
As Beach Boys collectors know only too well, Duophonic stereo was a form of rechanneled stereo, slightly more sophisticated than RCA's procedure of adding reverb to one "channel," in Where Love Lives - Various - Never Forget The Very Best Of The 90s the bass and treble components on a monaural original were divided between the two channels on a "stereo" album, creating something vaguely resembling a two-channel effect on playback.
It really wasn't very satisfying and, so far as anyone can tell based on chart action, few of the Kingston Trio 's fans cared much about this reissue, which did little but buy some time between the last new sides by the original lineup of the trio with Dave Guard and the debut of John Stewart as Guard 's replacement.
